Going for a walk

It may not be the most exciting thing but the last couple of months my wife and I have started taking evening walks around our neighborhood. With the stay at home order this has become an even bigger part of our day. At first it was just a way for us to get out of the house and exercise, but it has become more than that. It is not something I really thought about before we started doing it but is it is a cool time for us to just talk about everything or nothing without the distractions of TV or our phones.

So if you are looking for a break, I recommend going for a walk even if it is just through your neighborhood.

It's Bloomin' Spring Ya'll! 💐

As Californians, though we are still confined to our residences by the Governor’s executive order and everything is still closed (thank you COVID-19 pandemic), we can still go outside!  One of my favorite things about spring (as some of my fellow team members already mentioned) is all the FLOWERS EVERYWHERE! 🌸 I love it when the wind blows through the Callery Pear trees and all the petals of their white blossoms float downward; I feel like it’s “snowing.”  The petals gather in piles on the street and then swirl on the ground when cars drive through them. It's pretty magical if you've never noticed.

All the pictures in this post were taken locally around El Dorado Hills and Folsom during springtime in years past.  See if you can find where they grow!  I’ll give ‘ya a freebie and my personal favorite: these fields of purple bluebonnets are by Folsom Lake. Also I’ve seen bunches of orange California poppies everywhere even just driving down Highway 50 the other day.

Even though our lives have been temporarily disrupted… there’s now plenty of time to stop and smell the flowers. And yes I managed to snag the perfect frame of Brig below so he appears to be frolicking in the field of bluebonnets 🤣

I Want Spring Back

I love spring, it’s the light in the tunnel during school that the semester will end (eventually). My husband and I disc golf together, and it’s much more enjoyable when there’s no snow on the ground and your fingers don’t freeze. We were supposed to play in a doubles tournament (my first!) I was really looking forward to competing, but that was postponed-so maybe it will be a summer activity this year! I also love hiking outside and seeing all the wildflowers and greenery that start to pop up. I hope everyone is still able to go outside and get some fresh air (while keeping proper social distancing) during these crazy times!
