Quick Year In Review

It's crazy to think that this is my last Loop post of the year. It's been a wild year with lots of mountain tops for us. So since we're all busy, instead of a long, contemplative Loop, here are a few quick hitters with some really cool/exciting things that have happened over the past year:


-Courtney and the upper management team have made 19 new hires this year (including our two seasonal employees)

-Our top 3 selling belts on Shopify have been: 1) Black Genuine 2) Black Top Grain 3) Mocha Genuine and the total belts sold would span 21.7 miles, if laid in a straight line.

-We sold over 60,000 belts on Shopify alone this year. Doing the math (I didn't do it - shout out to Navi), that number of belts laid out in a line extend 45.4 miles (roughly from the office to Davis).

-Our total nonprofit donations for the year include: Movember Foundation, Fisher House, Albie Aware, The Pony Express Marathon AIDS station and a company matching donation to victims of the Louisiana flooding. Those donations totaled $4,415. So rad!

-Navi has given out $4,500 to employees from money wheel spins throughout the year.

-The biggest single spin was $220, by Matt. The three biggest combined spins were from Trevor C., totaling $330.

-We've gained 4,535 new Instagram followers, 122 new Twitter followers and 4,925 new Facebook page 'likes'.

-We had 3,528,196 visitors to our website and a total of 52.8k orders (on Shopify alone).

-We had 615 orders placed from a game console (which is very weird/fascinating to me).

-After the United States, we sold the most belts to: 1) Mexico 2) Canada 3) United Kingdom 4) India 5) Australia

-This year is shaping up to be the first profitable year in SlideBelts history. We're on track to exceed $6.5M in total sales compared to last year at $2.7M. With this incredible growth rate, we have a great opportunity to make the Inc. 500 top 100 list next year.  

-YTD through our website, we have sold over 1,600 Survival Belts amounting to $273k in sales.

-Wholesale: 91 active accounts this year; 44 of which are golf and country clubs. $181k in total sales so far.  Our top wholesale account is The Grommet ($24k), followed by Bob's Belts ($12k), then Sanctuary Golf Club ($10k).

The moral of the story is: this has been an amazing year with tons of new growth and we've made HUGE strides towards reaching that mountain top that we're all working so hard to get to.
