Improvement Mon, Jan 11, 2016
To zoom out for a second, as most of you are probably aware and can attest, January is typically the slowest month of the year for countless companies across a wide range of industries. However, reflect on the past week we had here.
Crawl, walk, run is a fairly common training paradigm in a variety of professions. Keep in mind, crawling is still progress & it's still momentum one can build off of. We certainly don't want to always be crawling, but don't get discouraged if progress is very incremental at times.
I believe if you're truly pushing yourself, there will be slower periods. But, the great part is when you push yourself the slow periods help you acquire the knowledge and habits that will facilitate further progress. The small steps today truly can prepare you for that big leap tomorrow. One doesn't need to be on the moon to experience this.
Keep prioritizing and chipping away at the essential tasks while still leaning on one's core principles. Regardless of the situation one is confronted with, these core principles are one's anchor and guide. This set point helps one get through challenging situations, even when it's not easy. Expect positive outcomes and with learning and execution, one will experience positive results.
Furthermore, improvement does not require a title, instead, it's a role for all of us here, regardless of one's title. For example, if you have feedback on how a process could be improved or have an idea you haven't shared, be empowered to share and discuss. You're an owner.
To many more exciting weeks at SlideBelts and a big 'Thank You!' to everyone for the great start to this year.
