Building off what Jordan said yesterday about gratitude, one important action that relates to gratitude is savoring the experience. When something good happens, take a moment and pause. Think about that moment, focus on it, and take a minute to appreciate it. When one tends to focus on the good, one is in a better position boost their happiness.
One activity that can be incorporated into your everyday routine is drinking a fresh glass of water each morning after you wake up. While drinking the glass of water, reflect on the goodness of it and the importance of water as an essential component of life. This is just one of many examples, from a common everyday routine, where devoting attention to the experience, can benefit your overall happiness.
Another basic step is writing down 3 things you're grateful for each evening. Record what went well and why you believe it went well. Keeping a basic record has proven to be an effective method for increasing one's happiness.
These are just 2 examples of small actions that help create a positive feedback loop in one's brain, which in turn, exponentially increases one's happiness.
I hope everyone has a good Thanksgiving. Enjoy your time away.
