Some of you might have seen that there's a new shopping experience some retailers are starting to utilize, v-commerce. If you're not familiar, v-commerce is selling through virtual reality. Tommy Hilfiger is the first major retailer to focus on v-commerce.


Using a Samsung VR headset, they provide shoppers with front-row view of their fall fashion show that happened earlier this year in New York. In order to have unique footage that's compatiable with VR, Tommy Hilfiger worker with another company that filmed the fasion show on a camera with 14 different lenses. Tommy Hilfiger plans to offer the headsets to guests in their biggest stores in the U.S. and Europe.


Daniel Grieder, the chief executive of Tommy Hilfiger, explained the reasoning behind offering the headsets to guests:

“These days, you can’t just wait for people to come into the store and try on your jackets. You have to provide entertainment. It’s not about turnover by square foot anymore. It’s about surprise by square foot, or newness.”
