A common attribute of extremely successful people is their ability to obsess. For example, Michael Jordan was often described as being “pathologically competitive.” His drive to win eclipsed almost all other aspects of his life, to the point where most people might find it unreasonable. However, this obsessive nature, combined with his incredible talent and work ethic, led him to become arguably the greatest basketball player of all time.
That’s not to say you should stare sweat-drenched and red-eyed at the ceiling at night, agonizing over being “the best.” But being great demands a type of obsession. It demands that you never be completely satisfied. When other people are relaxing and saying, "that should be enough to get by," you need to still be pushing yourself. Reject the mediocre and the bare minimum. You must feel in your bones that your greatness is not only possible, but necessary. I know you have what it takes, so...
