I'm seeing green Wed, Jun 03, 2015
I saw this recent study from Australia that examined the impact of grassy green roofs on productivity. The study, published by the Journal of Environmental Psychology, found "...looking at an image of nature for less than a minute was all it took to help people perform better on our task," according to lead researcher Kate Lee. Specifically, those participants who took a "...40-second break midway through the task to view a city rooftop scene" had "...significantly less errors" and these participants, "...demonstrated superior concentration on the second half of the task.." when compared to others who viewed a concrete roof.
Try this out, at some point today, take 40 seconds and look at a something green in nature. Some other studies indicate "micro-breaks" can be beneficial for concentration and productivity. If you're short on time, can't get to the gym, meditate, etc. try a micro-break and see if that helps.
