The power of positive words Mon, Mar 09, 2015
We all know how powerful words can be and how important communication is. When was the last time you assessed the language you use each day?
1. Start with an assessment of any negative or defensive words you use and then evaluate how frequently you use them.
2. Write these words or phrases down, record them in a voice memo, or send an email to yourself...you get the idea.
3. Next, write down a positive word or phrase that is a suitable replacement for the negative ones. If it's helpful, create 2 columns to do this.
4. Study these words and phrases and most importantly utilize the positive ones in your communication to yourself and others. If necessary, start with just 1 word or phrase for a week and focus on replacing just that one word with something positive. Repeat as needed even if it means taking a few weeks focusing on 1 word or phrase.
