First who….then what.

I am still reading (well listening to an audiobook, give me a break) Good to Great by Jim Collins.  Jim tells us that to become a great company, first and foremost you must have great people.  As he so delightfully puts it, get people on the bus, then figure out where you are going.  To have an amazing company you must have disciplined self-motivated people on your team, then know your goal.  I don’t know about you but I honestly think that SlideBelts is a great company, so I guess that make us great people, right?  Take a minute to reflect on that.  The hiring process for this company is not easy, in fact it goes against the grain of most corporations (but seriously if you could pick anyone alive or dead to have lunch with who would it be?)  We weren’t just hired we were selected to be a part of this great company.  So take a moment to appreciate that.  WE’RE GREAT!
