Feel Good Story

Some of you may feel disappointed, ecstatic, or indifferent about yesterday's election results. So today's loop is centered around something everyone can feel joyful about.

Donut City in Seal Beach, California has been operated by husband-and-wife owners, John and Stella Chhan, for the last 28 years. On September 22nd Stella suffered an aneurysm. John continued to run the business, closing at 2pm, and then heading to visit his wife at the nursing home.

Her absence was noticed and once John disclosed why she was not there, customers offered to start a GoFundMe page to raise money for John and Stella but John declined. However, the customers found a clever way to assist.

Customers in the neighborhood came together and started arriving early, some buying several dozen donuts. Each day the goal has been to have Donut City sellout as early as possible, allowing John to close early and spend the rest of the day with his wife.

Unfortunately we are often bombarded with sad stories and it's easy to forget how many amazing people exist on this beautiful planet. Obviously it is important to be aware of what is transpiring in the world, no matter how bad it may be, but don't forget all the good that still exists and that you always have the option to be the good.
