Ceramics

I took a ceramics class towards the end of college and fell in luv 😍It may or may not have taken me the entire semester to FINALLY get the hang of throwing (using the spinny wheel thingy 😉), but once I figured it out it quickly became one of my favorite things to do. Throwing can have a pretty steep learning curve and requires a great deal of patience and control, but it's incredibly therapeutic and rewarding once you get the hang of it. Also the great part about throwing is that it's still super fun even if you don't know what you're doing!

Overall, ceramics are worth the time and energy and one of my current life dreams is to have my own wheel/kiln so I could have fun making ceramics on the side 🍶

If you've bought in to me singing ceramics' praises and you're here in Sac, you should check out Sincere Ceramics! You can buy tickets online for a class, which gives you access to all the tools/clay you'll need. The owner gives a 20 minute tutorial at the beginning to show different techniques for hand-building and throwing (the wheel), and then you're free to create! Perfect activity for a d8 night, fun with friends, or some cathartic art-making 🙂

^ Three cheers for forcing side hobbies on others! 🤘(Look how much fun they're having!)
